Doppel ("we," "our," or "us") is an AI-powered iOS application that analyzes your photograph to reveal a personality archetype. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our app.

We are committed to handling your data with transparency and care. By using Doppel, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

02 Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Photos you provide
When you use Doppel, you submit a photo (selfie or chosen image). This photo is transmitted securely to our AI processing partner for analysis. We do not permanently store the original photo you upload.

AI-generated content
The output of the AI analysis — your personality archetype, character traits, rarity score, and AI-generated portrait image — is stored in our database so you can access your profile within the app.

Character profile data
We store the character profiles you create, including archetype names, trait descriptions, and associated generated images.

Subscription and purchase information
If you subscribe to Doppel Premium, payment processing is handled exclusively by Apple through the App Store. We receive only confirmation of your subscription status (active, expired, or cancelled) — we never receive or store your payment card details.

Device and usage data
We may collect basic technical information such as device type, operating system version, and app crash reports to maintain and improve the app.

03 How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Analyze your photo and generate your personality archetype results
• Create, store, and display your character profiles within the app
• Deliver AI-generated portrait images associated with your archetype
• Verify your subscription status and unlock premium features
• Diagnose technical issues and improve app performance
• Respond to your support requests

We do not use your personal data for advertising, profiling for third-party marketing, or any purpose beyond operating and improving the Doppel app.

04 Third-Party Services

Doppel relies on trusted third-party services to deliver its functionality. Below is a summary of each service and the data it receives.

05 Data Storage & Security

Your character profiles and generated images are stored in Google Firebase, which provides industry-standard security measures including encryption at rest and in transit.

Photos you submit for analysis are transmitted to fal.ai over encrypted HTTPS connections. We do not retain copies of your original photos on our own servers.

While we implement reasonable security measures, no method of electronic storage or internet transmission is 100% secure. We encourage you to use the app responsibly and only submit photos you are comfortable sharing for analysis purposes.

06 Data Retention

We retain your character profile data and AI-generated images in Firebase for as long as you use the app or until you request deletion.

If you delete the app or request account deletion, we will remove your stored character data and associated images from our Firebase database within a reasonable period (typically 30 days).

07 Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data
• Portability: Request a machine-readable copy of your data
• Objection: Object to certain types of data processing

08 Children's Privacy

Doppel is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete it promptly.

09 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you through the app.

Your continued use of Doppel after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
