01 Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Doppel app ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Doppel ("we," "us," or "our"). Please read them carefully.

02 Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use Doppel. If you are under 18, you represent that you have obtained parental or guardian consent to use the Service.

By using Doppel, you represent and warrant that you meet the eligibility requirements above and that all information you provide is accurate and truthful.

03 The Service

Doppel is an AI-powered iOS application that analyzes photographs to generate a personality archetype profile, including a character description, personality traits, rarity score, and an AI-generated portrait image.

The Service is provided for entertainment and self-reflection purposes only. Results are generated by artificial intelligence and do not constitute scientific, psychological, medical, or professional assessments of any kind.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. We will not be liable to you for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

04 Subscriptions & Payments

Doppel offers a free tier and a premium subscription ("Doppel Premium") that unlocks additional features.

Billing
Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID via the App Store. By subscribing, you agree to Apple's payment terms. We do not collect or store your payment information.

Auto-renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Your Apple ID will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.

Managing your subscription
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device's App Store settings: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access to premium features until that date.

Refunds
All subscription payments are final and non-refundable, except as required by applicable law or at Apple's discretion. To request a refund, contact Apple directly through reportaproblem.apple.com.

Price changes
We may change subscription prices at any time. Price changes will be communicated in advance and will not affect your current subscription period.

05 User Content & Photos

When you submit a photo to Doppel, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to transmit that photo to our AI processing partner (fal.ai) solely for the purpose of generating your personality analysis results.

You represent and warrant that:

• You own the photo or have the right to submit it for this purpose
• The photo depicts you or a person for whom you have consent to submit
• Submitting the photo does not violate any third party's privacy, intellectual property, or other rights
• The photo does not contain illegal, harmful, or obscene content

We do not permanently store your original uploaded photos. Generated character profiles and AI-portrait images are stored in our database and remain associated with your device.

06 Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Doppel to:

• Submit photos of other people without their knowledge or consent
• Upload images that are illegal, obscene, defamatory, or infringe third-party rights
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract the source code or models underlying the Service
• Use automated scripts, bots, or other means to access the Service in a non-human manner
• Circumvent any technical measures we use to restrict access or protect the Service
• Use results to harm, harass, discriminate against, or make decisions adversely affecting any individual
• Represent AI-generated results as scientifically validated facts or professional assessments

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access if we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have violated these restrictions.

07 Intellectual Property

All content, software, design, text, graphics, logos, and other elements of the Doppel app are the property of Doppel or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

Your generated content: AI-generated portrait images and archetype profiles produced for you remain accessible within your app. You may share these images for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not sell or commercially exploit generated content.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

08 Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
• Results will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose
• Defects will be corrected
• The Service or its servers are free from viruses or other harmful components

Personality results are AI-generated for entertainment purposes only and carry no scientific validity. Do not make important life decisions based on Doppel results.

09 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Doppel and its affiliates, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or, if you have not made any payments, USD $10).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above may not apply to you.

10 Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, for any reason, including if we believe you have violated these Terms.

You may stop using the Service at any time by deleting the app from your device. If you have an active subscription, cancellation through the App Store settings is required to stop future billing.

Upon termination, all licences granted to you under these Terms will immediately cease. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 7, 8, 9, and 11) will remain in effect.

11 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction, as applicable.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

12 Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you through the app.

Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service.
